This role ensures financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational scalability while supporting strategic decision making across the organization.The Controller partners closely with executive leadership to strengthen financial visibility, improve processes, and maintain a disciplined control environment aligned with GAAP, FAR, CAS, and contract requirements.Job Description:The Controller serves as a key leader in maintaining the financial integrity of Advex Corporation. This position is responsible for building scalable accounting processes, ensuring audit readiness, and driving continuous improvement across all financial functions. The role requires a detail oriented and strategic professional who can operate both tactically and at a leadership level within a fast-paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities:Accounting OperationsLead and develop accounting functions including AR, AP, and general ledgerEnsure accurate and efficient processing of all financial transactionsEstablish scalable processes and controls to support company growthFinancial Reporting and CloseOversee monthly and annual close processesPrepare and review financial statementsEnsure compliance with GAAP, FAR, CAS, and internal policiesMaintain project EACs for revenue recognitionPartner with external auditors and advisorsInternal Controls and ComplianceDesign and maintain a strong internal control environmentEnsure audit readiness and regulatory complianceEstablish and enforce accounting policies across the organizationTreasury, Tax, and Financial OversightOversee treasury and cash management activitiesSupport annual tax filings with external service providersMonitor and analyze corporate overhead and expense trendsProcess Improvement and TransformationDrive automation and process improvementsImprove close timelines and reporting accuracyEnhance data quality and financial visibilityTeam Leadership and DevelopmentBuild and develop a high performing accounting teamFoster accountability, ownership, and continuous improvementDevelop future finance leadership within the organizationOrganizational SupportSupport operations with inventory control and managementMonitor capital spending and budgetingPerform other duties as assignedOther duties as assignedQualifications & Skills:Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMinimum of eight (8) years of progressive accounting experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reportingExperience managing close processes and accounting operationsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and leadership capabilitiesPreferred Qualifications:CPA designationExperience in manufacturing or multi-entity environmentsERP system experienceExperience supporting defense contractors or regulated environmentsWhat Success Looks Like:Accurate and timely financial reportingStrong internal controls and audit readinessScalable and efficient accounting processesImproved reporting accuracy and automationEngaged and high performing accounting teamSkills:Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to enforce compliance while maintaining professional working relationshipsHigh attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentEmployment Eligibility Requirements:Must be authorized to work in the United StatesAbility to obtain and maintain any required security clearances as applicableSuccessful completion of pre-employment screening requirementsPhysical Demands:* Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout manufacturing facilities for extended periods* Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)Work Environment:This position operates within a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
