Administrative Professional 4We are seeking an Administrative Professional 4 to join our team at Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility. This position will provide non-routine administrative support for our Administrative Office. Duties include, but are not limited to: Develop office procedures to monitor and track flow of information through office; review new and/or revised policy and procedures; provide input on procedural changes and policy provisions; communicate decisions, directives, and assignments to appropriate staff; train new managerial staff on office and facility policies and procedures (e.g., monthly reporting procedures, notification of incidents); research and prepare data for inclusion in facility budget Assist with staff and youth investigations (e.g., process all confidential investigations through appropriate channels, serve as pre-disciplinary hearing officer); prepare investigative reports for distribution Assist with AWL preparation (e.g., ensure proper forms are completed and obtain signatures, notify appropriate staff); assist with local law enforcement and Public Defender requests (e.g., log requests, coordinate arrangements for meetings with youth) Prepare confidential correspondence; maintain confidential files; order supplies and maintain inventory; act as a member of the administrative team (e.g., conduct inspections of facility; work evenings and/or weekends; conduct scheduled tours) Why Work for the State of Ohio At the State of Ohio, we take care of the team that cares for Ohioans. Or completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college; and 12 mos. exp. in secretarial/administrative professional field. Or 12 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 2,16872. Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above. PRE-SERVICE TRAINING: All new candidates hired to the Department of Youth Services are required to attend 3 weeks of mandatory, paid training at the Correctional Training Academy in Orient, Ohio. Training Academy hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Travel, meals, and lodging are provided.
