compliance with project plans, specifications, shop drawings and other project related documents.\nMonitor contractor’s operations to ensure compliance with contract terms and specifications.\nCoordinate, schedule and perform construction materials sampling and testing to ensure the compliance with TxDOT sampling and testing guide schedule minimum frequency requirements.\nPrepare and submit accurate, legible, comprehensive and complete inspection and testing reports on a daily basis in accordance with established quality procedures.\nInteract with client representative (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites.\nPerform, supervise, report on frequency compliance and coordinate field tests on materials and completed work using standard methods established by AASHTO, ASTM or other agency with appropriate, properly calibrated testing equipment.\nPerform mathematical calculations using basic algebra (fundamental laws, algebraic expressions), geometry, and the trigonometric functions of right triangles.\nMentor and train less experience workers on work methods.\nRole Requirements\nGraduation from high school or GED certification.\nA person in this position generally, but not necessarily, has a minimum of 5 years of experience in:\nRoadway, and related facilities, construction inspection\nSampling and testing of soil, base, concrete and paving materials\nReporting daily inspections within TxDOT SiteManager\nShall possess valid Class C Texas driver’s license and meet firm’s auto insurability requirements.\nExtensive knowledge of\nHighway construction plans, construction inspection procedures, and specifications.\nMaterials used in highway construction.\nMaterial testing procedures.\nConsiderable knowledge of\nAlgebra, geometry, and trigonometry.\nThe Texas Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices or Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.\nCertification in one or more of the following areas is not required but preferred:\nACI Concrete Field Grade 1\nTxAPA SB102 in soils and base\nTxAPA Level 1B in hot mix asphalt\nTxDOT experience is an advantage\nMust pass drug test, fit-for-duty physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.\nPhysical Demands\nPhysical examination required to obtain medical clearance to work.\nAbility to lift 40 lbs and move 100 lbs\nClean driving record and capable of being insured for driving company vehicles.\nAble to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat or cold.\nFlexibility to travel to construction sites for extended periods and work outside of normal business hours.\nIndividuals must be authorized to work in the
