With locations in Anchorage, Soldotna and Wasilla, we offer a broad array of building materials to clients all over the state.\nJOB SUMMARY\nThe Truck Driver facilitates the delivery of our products and materials to our customers.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nInspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights and brakes to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.\nLoad and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles.\nObey traffic laws and follow written and transportation procedures.\nPerform emergency repairs such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, chains and spark plugs.\nReport any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.\nPerform other related duties as assigned.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES\nAbility and willingness to abide by the company’s code of conduct, policies and procedures.\nComply, understand, and support the company’s safety culture to ensure a safe work environment.\nStrong knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to the Inupiat culture.\nKnowledge of computerized accounting systems.\nDetail oriented and organized.\nAbility to prioritize and multi task to meet deadlines.\nAbility to comply with, understand, and support ASRC Construction’s safety culture to ensure a safe work environment.\nAbility to take direction when working with co-workers and supervisors\nAbility to learn the processes of pulling orders and loading materials on the truck.\nAbility to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.\nCORE COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS\nCustomer Focus – Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.\nDecision Quality – Makes good decisions based on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgement.\nDrive for Results – Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully.\nConflict Management – Steps up to conflicts, seeing them as opportunities; can find common ground and get cooperation with minimal noise.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nRequired\nAbility to meet safety expectations of the position.\nA valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License.\nAir Brakes endorsement.\nCurrent or have the ability to obtain a Forklift Certification within five (5) days of hire.\nPreferred\nPrior work experience as a delivery driver.\nCurrent Forklift certification.\nPrior experience with building material supply or wholesale supply.\nExperience working with truck mounted forklift delivery trucks, knuckle, and standard boom trucks.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to safely perform the essential functions of this position.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
