This position supports all administrative tasks and programs in the NORO.\r\nAn ideal candidate will possess the following core competencies:\r\nAccepting Direction: The ability to be open and willing to follow guidance or instructions.\r\nFollowing Policies and Procedures: The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies.\r\nMaking Accurate Judgments: The ability to assess options, weigh risks, and make sound decisions using available information and logical reasoning.\r\nMinimum Qualifications:\r\nFour years of experience in administrative services; OR\r\nSix years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR\r\nA bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR\r\nAn advanced degree.\r\nJob Duties and Other Information:\r\nServes as the first point of contact for the New Orleans Regional Office (NORO)\r\nCorresponds with stakeholders via phone, email, and in-person visitors\r\nMaintains meeting room calendars\r\nReports network or computer access-related issues.\r\nCoordinates with building administrator relative to maintenance issues to resolve problems and restore services.\r\nDrafts and prepares letters, memos, and travel requests\r\nObtains all necessary signatures for approval\r\nMakes hotel, vehicle, and airline reservations when necessary for travel\r\nServes as the NORO's point of contact with the agency's Human Resources (HR) section for all routine personnel matters\r\nServes as the timekeeper by reviewing and ensuring accuracy of payroll entries for all employees in the NORO\r\nCoordinates with HR and the appropriate manager/supervisor to prepare and ensure all HR paperwork is accurate\r\nProvides all new hires with HR paperwork and ensures paperwork is delivered securely and timely to the Baton Rouge office\r\nAssists with the required quarterly safety meetings\r\nResponsible for fulfilling all purchasing needs on behalf of the NORO\r\nPrepares, maintains, and submits all necessary paperwork for purchasing\r\nCoordinates with the agency's Support Services section to determine and order special equipment needs (boats, boat trailers, motors, airboats, etc.)\r\nMaintains all equipment maintenance agreements for computer needs, telecommunications, rentals, and inventory\r\nMaintains petty cash and prepares office supply requests.\r\nHires, trains, and supervises student employees\r\nMaintains electronic files for reference\r\nProvides backup support to other Regional offices as necessary\r\nPosition-Specific Details:\r\nAppointment Type: Probational or Promotional\r\nOffice Location: 2045 Lakeshore Dr New Orleans, LA 70122\r\nCompensation: The maximum salary for the Administrative Program Specialist-B is $78,790 annually.\r\nHow To Apply:\r\nTo apply for this vacancy, click on the \"Apply\" link above and complete an electronic application, which can be used for this vacancy as well as future job opportunities.
