This role involves researching technical accounting matters and drafting related position papers, providing input to and reviewing financial statements, standardization of policy and procedures, special projects, interaction with external auditors and potentially regulators. The role requires advanced research and analytical skills with a proven track record to drive accountability and deliver results.\r\nWhat You'll Work On\r\nPerforming analysis and technical accounting research under US GAAP related to revenue recognition, strategic partnerships, accounting for digital asset and blockchain transactions, acquisitions and other non-routine transactions that may arise.\r\nMaintaining accounting policies and procedures and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to operationalize them.\r\nEnsuring appropriate documentation of accounting treatment of complex and judgemental transactions, including analysis, relevant literature, and conclusion.\r\nSupporting in the review of the Group's consolidated financial statements, SEC filings, and statutory reporting by Circle's global subsidiaries.\r\nAnalyzing the impact of emerging accounting standards on the Company and assessing broader implications for the business.\r\nLiaise with accounting standard setters and influential industry bodies to drive the development of and help shape accounting guidance for stablecoins and other digital assets.\r\nImplementing and educating global accounting and cross-functional teams of necessary changes to adopt and comply with new standards and ensure proper disclosure in filings.\r\nPartner with commercial teams to advise on accounting outcomes as part of the structuring of contracts and development of new products.\r\nEvaluating and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Company's accounting policies and processes, including ensuring compliance with US GAAP/SEC and other international accounting standards.\r\nServing as liaison for technical accounting matters with internal stakeholders and external advisors and auditors.\r\nProviding technical input on special projects, including regulatory and other ad hoc assignments.\r\nWhat You'll Bring To Circle\r\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and Certified Public Accountant or International equivalent.\r\n7+ years of relevant work experience, including public accounting and industry specific experience.\r\nStrong technical knowledge of US GAAP (knowledge of IFRS, or other international accounting standards, not required but desirable).\r\nProven ability to support financial reporting functions and manage auditor relationships on technical matters.\r\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.\r\nExcellent time-management and organizational skills.\r\nAbility to effectively facilitate and present in group meetings.\r\nProven ability to work cross functionally and adapt to change are extremely important.\r\nExperience working in or with large/listed companies.\r\nExperience working with SOX 404 and internal controls over financial reporting or similar control framework.\r\nDemonstrated professional commitment, initiative, accountability and ownership of assignments.\r\nExperience working in regulated business, financial services or technology industries are a plus.\r\nExperience/familiarity with Workiva or other reporting software, Slack, Apple MacOS and GSuite.\r\nExperience/familiarity with AI tools to drive efficiency and accelerate accounting research and drafting of technical position papers.\r\nCircle is on a mission to create an inclusive financial future, with transparency at our core.
