Assistant Maintenance ManagerAbacus is looking to hire an Assistant Maintenance Manager in the New Jersey area.The Assistant Manager, Maintenance is responsible for supporting the maintenance operations of multiple warehouse facilities by ensuring buildings, equipment, and systems are operating safely and efficiently. This role will oversee preventative maintenance activities, coordinate vendor services, respond to facility maintenance needs, and assist in maintaining a safe and well-maintained work environment for employees and tenants.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine inspections to identify maintenance needs, operational deficiencies, and safety hazards throughout warehouse facilitiesConduct preventative maintenance and repairs on warehouse equipment, overhead doors, lighting, and building systemsCoordinate and manage third-party contractors for services including HVAC repair, paving, concrete work, roofing, snow removal, and landscapingObtain and review vendor quotations and assist in selecting qualified service providersIdentify and report major repair requirements, capital improvement needs, and safety concerns to managementRespond to and address maintenance requests and issues raised by third-party tenantsMaintain accurate facility records, including surveys, repairs, improvements, alterations, and maintenance documentationEnsure compliance with company safety standards and applicable regulationsSupport overall facility operations and assist with special projects as neededRequired Skills & QualificationsWorking knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systemsKnowledge of commercial construction and general facility maintenance practicesAbility to safely operate hand tools and maintenance equipmentStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesPhysical ability to lift, carry, stand, walk, bend, and move heavy objects as requiredPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience in warehouse, industrial, or commercial property maintenanceFamiliarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and conveyor systemsExperience coordinating vendors and contractorsThis job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, or qualifications.
