The Hardware Technician provides technical support for computers and associated networks, installs and troubleshoots hardware and software, and supports the organization’s IT infrastructure.\n\nJob Duties\n\nProvide technical support for computers and associated networks.\n\nInstall, troubleshoot, service, and repair personal computers, network equipment (servers, modems, multiplexers), related PC software, telephones, cables, and connectors.\n\nProvide hardware and software support for personal computers.\n\nInstall, service, and repair personal computers and attendant software.\n\nConnect personal computers and terminals to existing data networks.\n\nMaintain network diagrams and circuit records.\n\nMaintain trouble logs.\n\nInstruct users in the use of personal computers and networks.\n\nInvestigate information, network, and communications needs of users and make recommendations regarding software and hardware purchases.\n\nPerform basic PC software programming.\n\nDocument and maintain inventories of customer-owned equipment.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, And Abilities\n\nFrequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards.\n\nGeneral application of concepts and principles.\n\nDemonstrated skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks.\n\nProblem Solving\n\nDevelops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.\n\nDiscretion/Latitude\n\nWorks under only very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.\n\nImpact\n\nContributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals. Errors in judgement or failure to achieve results would normally require a moderate expenditure of resources to rectify.\n\nLiaison\n\nFrequent internal company and external contacts. Represents the organization on specific projects and may make presentations to small groups.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nAA or other 2-year technical degree in a related discipline and 6 years related experience.\n\nMust have at least a Top-Secret clearance to start, with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret/SCI.\n\nSecurity+ certification.\n\nWorking at Edgesource\nAs an ISO 9001:2015 certified and CMMI Level 3 appraised small business, Edgesource specializes in providing a variety of technical solutions, including software development, database services, enterprise networking, data center virtualization, and management support.
