mission-critical software platform that combines cloud services, real-time systems, operator interfaces, and connected device communication.\nThis role is ideal for a senior engineering leader who enjoys making architectural decisions, writing production code, reviewing pull requests with depth, mentoring developers, and helping teams deliver reliable software for complex operational environments.\nYou will work across technologies such as Node.js, GraphQL, Vue 3, Redis, MySQL, MQTT, IoT device integrations, cloud infrastructure, and related development tools to build scalable, secure, and highly reliable software solutions.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nLead technical direction across full stack applications, backend services, real-time data flows, and IoT-connected systems.\nDesign and guide architecture for Node.js and GraphQL backends, Vue 3 frontends, Redis-based real-time state, MySQL data storage, and MQTT device communication.\nWrite production code regularly while also reviewing pull requests, setting technical standards, and ensuring strong code quality.\nTranslate product goals into clear, phased engineering work and help prioritize technical initiatives.\nIdentify technical debt, performance risks, reliability gaps, and architectural concerns before they become larger issues.\nOwn and improve critical platform capabilities, including real-time updates, device workflows, routing logic, audit history, and operator-facing interfaces.\nCollaborate with product, design, QA, project management, and engineering teams to deliver practical and reliable solutions.\nSupport security best practices related to authentication, SSO, session management, input validation, secrets management, and secure system design.\nWrite clear technical specifications, unblock engineers, lead technical discussions, and support delivery across the engineering team.\nMentor developers through coaching, pairing, direct feedback, and thoughtful code reviews.\nPromote a strong engineering culture focused on reliability, maintainability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.\nWhat You Bring:\n8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including senior or technical lead responsibilities.\n5+ years of production experience with Node.js backend development.\nStrong experience designing and building GraphQL APIs, preferably with Apollo Server or a similar framework.\nStrong experience with Vue 3 and the Composition API.\nExperience reviewing and improving frontend state management, including Pinia or similar tools.\nExperience using Redis as a real-time runtime data store, not only as a cache.\nExperience designing, building, or debugging real-time systems using WebSockets, SSE, pub/sub, or similar patterns.\nFamiliarity with IoT communication protocols, especially MQTT.\nStrong understanding of relational databases, preferably MySQL.\nStrong architectural judgment and the ability to make pragmatic technical decisions.\nExperience leading engineering teams of 5 to 10+ developers through successful product delivery.\nDemonstrated success mentoring engineers through coaching, pairing, feedback, and technical guidance.\nStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nAbility to take ownership, propose solutions, and follow through without needing constant direction.\nPreferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):\nExperience with life-safety, industrial control, building automation, security, or other mission-critical systems.\nEmbedded systems or firmware experience, including ESP-IDF, C, Rust, or constrained hardware environments.\nKubernetes operational experience.\nExperience with graph traversal, routing, or pathfinding algorithms.\nExperience with Playwright or large-scale end-to-end test automation.\nFamiliarity with BACnet, ONVIF, or other building automation or security system protocols.\nExperience
