Quality Control Inspector (1st & 3rd Shift) Location: Northwest Houston, TX Employment Type: Direct Hire OR Temp to Hire (DOE) FLSA: Hourly, Non-Exempt Reports To: Quality Manager Compensation: $21-$25/hr. Shifts: 1 st & 3 rd Company Overview Our client is a global manufacturer of complex assemblies and finished components supporting data center infrastructure, energy, automotive, and industrial process markets. With multiple international manufacturing sites and a strong U.S. presence, this organization is known for high-precision assembly, integration, and quality-driven manufacturing for blue-chip customers. The Houston operation focuses heavily on assembly and integration work for data centers and process-driven industrial environments, requiring tight dimensional control, repeatable inspection processes, and robust metrology practices. Position Summary The Quality Control Inspector ensures products meet established quality standards and customer specifications through precise start-up, in-process, and final inspections. This is a hands-on inspection role requiring strong dimensional measurement skills, blueprint interpretation, and familiarity with structured Quality Management Systems (QMS). The ideal candidate brings experience in plastic components, mechanical assemblies, or high-volume manufacturing environments and is comfortable working independently on shift. Key Responsibilities Perform start-up, in-process, and final inspections in accordance with internal quality procedures and customer specificationsConduct dimensional inspections using:CalipersMicrometersPin gaugesHeight gaugesGo/No-Go gaugesCoordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)Inspect first articles, sample runs, and tooling/process modificationsInterpret engineering drawings and GD&T symbolsMonitor SPC data and identify out-of-control trendsConduct capability studies and assist with process validation activitiesDocument inspection results and nonconformances (NCMR, VRR, RMA)Ensure proper segregation and quarantine of nonconforming materialVerify labeling and packaging compliance prior to shipmentEnter inspection data into internal quality tracking systemsCommunicate shift hand-off information to oncoming inspectorsMaintain inspection equipment and notify team of calibration concernsSupport training of new operators and inspectors as neededPromote adherence to quality and safety standards Qualifications 3-5+ years of Quality Inspection experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skillsHands-on experience with precision measuring toolsExperience working within ISO-based Quality SystemsBasic computer proficiency for data entry and reportingStrong attention to detail and independent work capabilityPreferred (not required):Experience in plastic injection molding or assembly environmentsFamiliarity with AS9100 or ISO 13485 standardsExperience with CMM operation Shifts Available 1st Shift3rd Shift(Shift differentials may apply depending on schedule.)
