The Production Manager will oversee day-to-day activities to meet production deadlines and provide leadership for team members. The Production Manager drives the lean process to maximize profitable growth, provides premier customer service, develops a technically qualified workforce, and reduces operating cost and inventories through continuous improvements. This position reports to the Operations Manager.\r\nHours\r\n8:00 am – 5:00 pm M-F or alternate shifts to accommodate production.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nLeads and guides Best Practices of Safety and Quality to ensure both are demonstrated as Core Values.\r\nDirectly accountable for preventative maintenance program, execution of operational organization and housekeeping.\r\nResponsible for production scheduling and coordination with traffic on outbound shipments.\r\nLeads and guides lean initiatives to help develop the overall lean strategy for plant-wide implementation.\r\nEstablish team goals and track key performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement.\r\nResponsible for all aspects of developing team members, employment decisions, and performance assessments of team members.\r\nEnsures all team members receive training in and execute lean methodologies, standard operating procedures, best practices, and the lean tools used for continuous improvement and elimination of waste.\r\nEnsures cross training of all team members across all job functions to allow for flexing of employees to optimize the effectiveness of the manufacturing process.\r\nEmpowers team members in a positive manner to drive team's success.\r\nExperience / Skills\r\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.\r\nStrong leadership, coaching and communication skills.\r\nDemonstrated problem analysis and problem-solving skills and have ability to coach team members in developing these skills.\r\nAbility to organize, plan, coordinate and execute.\r\nAbility to refine manufacturing processes to achieve continuous improvements in quality, delivery and cost.\r\n5–10 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment with at least 5 years of supervisory experience preferred.\r\nLean management experience.\r\nMcElroy Metal will consider qualified applicants with a criminal history.
