This role has the responsibility to perform the essential job duties and functions as listed below with the overall objective of managing and/or coordinating project activities that are in compliance with the contract and ensure the safety, quality, value, timeliness, and client profitability of the completed project. Performing assigned general duties of limited scope and level of responsibility, this position is designed to develop broader project management knowledge and experience. At this level, the role may have the responsibility as the only project engineer on a medium size project with full accountability for the general duties, or the responsibility for general duties on a larger or more complex segment of a very large project.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nPerform basic project engineering functions involving monitoring of progress, preparation of procedures, documentation of communications and meetings, and identification/evaluation of project issues and problems\n\nCoordinate efforts of technical disciplines, vendors and licensors to ensure integrated and complete designs that meet project requirements and contractual obligations\n\nReview project staffing requirements and coordinate staffing with supporting functional organization managers and/or subcontractors\n\nSupport creation and coordination of overall project plans and schedules, and monitoring activities, progress, and milestones against the plans\n\nSupport creation and coordination of project effort hours, and cost estimates and budgets, and monitor progress and cost performance against these\n\nSupport the preparation, delivery and coordination of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages\n\nOther duties as assigned\n\nQualifications\n\nAccredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and (10) years of work‑related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements\n\nAbility to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors\n\nJob related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job\n\nAbility to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines\n\nAbility to attend to detail and work in a time‑conscious and time‑effective manner\n\nDiscipline‑Specific Job Requirements\n\nMake use of client University courses for continued learning experiences\n\nUtilize knowledge management communities to capture, support and leverage relevant knowledge to enhance project execution\n\nParticipate in vendor trade shows and become familiar with new technologies and industry business direction\n\nPreferred\n\nSix (6) years of experience in engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) industry including the performance of functional tasks on projects with a well‑developed understanding of procedures and interfaces\n\nExperience participating in risk assessments initiatives\n\nExperience in international locations and diverse cultural environments is recommended\n\nPrevious successful performance in a project engineering position on a minimum of two (2) medium or large sized projects\n\nDetailed knowledge of client’s software tools and databases preferred\n\nAbility to develop and sustain productive customer relationships while meeting the company’s needs\n\nFlexible and adaptable approach, willingness to take on new work challenges; adaptable to changing circumstances\n\nDemonstrated strategic thinking, accountability, and adaptability skills\n\nAbility to set and maintain high standards of performance with responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments and tasks\n\nCustomer focused with ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships while meeting the company’s needs\n\nProactive reporting of progress and accomplishments of assignments and apply necessary follow‑up to monitor progress and results of project tasks and assignments\n\nAnalytical approach to problem solving and identifying potential solutions\n\nTechnical and business writing skills\n\nBasic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, email, spreadsheets, electronic presentations, and project management tools\n\nCertification in project management suggested, for example Project Management Professional (PMP)\n\nAbout our Company\nDataSoft Technologies is a highly recognized provider of professional IT Consulting services in the US.
