This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys taking products from early concept through production while balancing innovation, manufacturability, and real-world customer needs.You’ll play a hands-on role in designing and improving products that are built to scale—working cross-functionally with marketing, manufacturing, electrical engineering, and external partners.What You’ll DoPartner with Product Marketing to help define product specifications, user needs, codes, standards, and competitive insights Create sketches, 3D models, and prototypes to explore and evaluate multiple design conceptsSelect optimal design solutions based on customer requirements, cost, and manufacturabilityDevelop final 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks and related CAD toolsCollaborate with IP and legal resources to protect intellectual property and avoid patent conflictsWork closely with Electrical Engineers to integrate PCBs and electrical components into mechanical designsDrive designs through modeling, prototyping, testing, pilot builds, and first-article inspectionsPartner with Advanced Manufacturing, Tool Shops, and Production teams to source prototype and production componentsProduce and maintain production documentation including drawings, BOMs, specifications, and quality/testing requirementsManage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to timely, effective completionSkills & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required5–10 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in new product developmentExperience with electro-mechanical product design and high-volume manufacturingProficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and document management toolsKnowledge of injection-molded and stamped component designAbility to perform engineering calculations; FEA experience a plusStrong cross-functional collaboration and communication skillsFamiliarity with UL requirements, Eco Design principles, and ISO 14001 preferredExperience with connected or IoT-enabled products is a plusCompensation$100,000 – $125,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience
