The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background and solid understanding of process and quality engineering principles.\nReporting to the Director of Engineering, the Verification & Validation Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products, systems, and components meet design intent, performance requirements, reliability expectations, and regulatory standards through structured validation and verification activities. This role will collaborate closely with design engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure robust production performance and manufacturability.\nWhat a typical day looks like:\nDevelop and execute verification and validation plans (V&V) to confirm product performance against design specifications and requirements.\nDesign test procedures, test fixtures, and validation protocols for mechanical systems and assemblies.\nPerform functional, environmental, reliability, and performance testing; Analyze test results and generate technical reports and validation summaries.\nEnsure traceability between requirements, test plans, and verification results.\nProvide technical expertise on mechanical systems, components, materials, and assemblies.\nSupport product development through design reviews, risk assessments, and failure analysis.\nEvaluate mechanical performance including load conditions, fatigue, vibration, thermal behavior, and environmental stresses.\nAssist in the design and improvement of test setups and mechanical test rigs.\nWork closely with Quality Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure test plans align with production processes.\nSupport design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for reliability (DFR) initiatives.\nParticipate in root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement activities.\nContribute to process validation, first article inspections, and production qualification testing.\nMaintain documentation in accordance with engineering standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.\nGenerate and maintain: Test protocols, Verification matrices, Validation reports, Engineering change documentation\nEnsure traceability between design requirements, validation results, and product release documentation.\nPartner with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, suppliers, and quality teams to resolve design and performance issues.\nProvide input during product development phases including prototype, pilot, and production release.\nSupport supplier validation and component qualification activities when necessary.\nPerforms other related duties as assigned.\nThe experience we’re looking to add to our team:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.\nAt least 5 years of related experience and/or training in validation, verification, product testing, process engineering, or quality engineering.\nStrong understanding of mechanical systems and assemblies.\nExperience developing and executing test plans, test protocols, and validation reports.\nStrong technical documentation ability.\nKnowledge of engineering validation methodologies and qualification testing.\nFamiliarity with root cause analysis techniques (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).\nExperience working with cross-functional teams in product development environments.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail.\nExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nProficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software.\nWhat you'll receive for the great work you provide:\nFull range of medical, dental, and vision plans\nLife Insurance\nShort-term and Long-term Disability\nMatching 401(k) Contributions\nVacation and Paid Sick Time\nTuition Reimbursement\nPay Range (Applicable to California)\n$80,400.00 USD - $110,600.00 USD Annual\nJob Category\nDesign, Process & Technology Engineering\nIs Sponsorship Available?\nNo\nCrown is an Equal Opportunity Employer and employment selection decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
