Our Project Managers provide leadership to the project team and direct the success of the overall project from initial estimating through completion while ensuring adherence to company procedures. This position focuses on various mechanical piping projects with varying scopes of work, including plumbing, HVAC, and process piping.\n\nLocation\nSanta Clara or San Leandro, CA with anticipated travel to designated project sites in and around the greater Bay Area region.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nMeet with Executive Management, Estimating, Field Operations and key stakeholders to define the scope of work and create a project execution plan, ensuring the safety of all staff.\n\nEnsure safety program is followed and safety culture is maximized, observing teams for safety deficiencies and suggesting safety priorities.\n\nSet up pre‑planning meetings and establish project budget.\n\nCreate a workable schedule for job cost control, labor, material, and equipment.\n\nEstablish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards.\n\nReview project with the Executive Management Team incrementally throughout the project from inception to completion.\n\nMeet weekly with field staff.\n\nWork with Purchasing on all equipment and material buyouts.\n\nManage all financial aspects of the contract; prepare a cost‑to‑complete report quarterly.\n\nPrepare monthly billings for submission to the General Contractor or Owner.\n\nPrepare and review monthly subcontractor billing.\n\nRepresent Murray Company in project meetings.\n\nAssist in labor negotiations/strategy.\n\nDocument pending problems and advise management.\n\nIn the absence of a Project Engineer, assume all Project Engineer responsibilities.\n\nAssume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate management.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or another relevant focus is desired or, at a minimum, strong experience and understanding of industrial construction/engineering design concepts.\n\nMinimum 5‑8 years of relevant experience working on diverse commercial and/or industrial piping projects; experience with semiconductor and/or biopharma a major plus.\n\nMust be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance through an understanding of corporate practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk.\n\nMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.\n\nMust have sufficient ability to read printed and digital documents.\n\nMust be able to climb ladders, access and egress trenches and/or attic spaces and/or confined spaces.\n\nRequires hearing ability to communicate in noisy environments.\n\nMust be able to recognize alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.\n\nMust be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.\n\nAbility to grasp, handle, and manipulate small objects.\n\nCompensation\n$130,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year\n\nTotal Rewards\nMurray Company offers a generous total rewards package to include an Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) contribution annually on top of a discretionary cash bonus program.
