ResponsibilitiesSupport the development of satellite command and control, mission planning, and data processing software systems using Elixir/Phoenix and TypeScript/ReactContribute to team discussions on architecture, design, and code reviewsCollaborate with engineers across disciplines to build effective systemsTake on well-scoped tasks and features with guidance from experienced engineersWrite tests and follow established testing practices to maintain code qualityBasic QualificationsPursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related disciplineExposure to functional programming concepts through coursework, personal projects, or prior experienceIntroductory experience with Elixir, Erlang, or similar functional languages (e.g., Haskell, Clojure, F#)Familiarity with full stack frameworks like Phoenix or Ruby on RailsBasic experience with HTML/CSS and modern JavaScript or TypeScriptInterest in resilient, fault-tolerant system design and distributed systemsStrong written and oral communication skills and aptitude for working across disciplinesEnjoys debugging and problem solvingA strong bias towards understanding how things work rather than accepting the status quoPreferred Skills And ExperienceFamiliarity with Elixir and OTP concepts including GenServers, supervision trees, or the Actor modelFamiliarity with React or similar modern frontend frameworksExposure to databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQLExposure to testing frameworks or practices in any languageInterest in real-time or game engine backendsFamiliarity with authentication concepts such as OAuth2 or role-based access controlsCompensationBase Salary: $28/hour This position will be open until it is successfully filled.
