The Performance Engineer is a vital role for the implementation and establishment of a quality process in our IT Testing organization. This individual leads efforts for testing organization in support of the SVB business teams. This role is an active partner in test design, planning and execution working on multiple projects and department initiatives. Supports and ensures successful delivery of organizational transformation and goals across all business verticals at SVB, delivering high quality product for our clients. Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day task management across multiple project test teams and long-term planning for specific business verticals. This role requires coordination with team across multiple time zones for global projects and working with teams located around the world.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nLead the performance testing initiatives, providing guidance and mentorship.\n\nDesign and execute comprehensive performance test plans.\n\nAnalyze test results to identify performance issuesand recommend optimization solutions.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to implement performance improvements.\n\nMaintain and enhance performance testing scripts and tools.\n\nDebug issues and conduct root cause analysis of performance bottlenecks.\n\nShould be able to do performance test Analysis/Troubleshooting which includes:\n\nThread Level analysis\n\nGarbage Collection Analysis\n\nHeap dump analysis\n\nThread dump analysis & Thread contention\n\nPinpoint failures and provide actionable performance tuning recommendations.\n\nAnticipate challenges, propose solutions, and ensure continuous improvement in performance engineering practices.\n\nDevelop and implement performance testing strategies and frameworks.\n\nCollaborate with stakeholders to define performance requirements and goals.\n\nCollaborate with the US teams, cross POD Tech leads, and global stakeholders to align performance objectives.\n\nWork in close partnership with Product and Development teams to elicit non-functional requirements (NFRs) from Business requirements, ensuring they serve as inputs for design and build.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Systems engineer and systems programmer OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Systems engineer and systems programmer\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nFunctional Skills:\n\nStrong business knowledge of financial systems; Digital Banking Platform experience preferred.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.\n\nExcellent communication, documentation abilities and teamwork skills.\n\nStrong leadership and team player abilities.\n\nExcellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.\n\nTechnical Skills:\n\nGood understanding of performance testing concepts.\n\nExpertise in performance testing tools like Neoload, Load Runner, JMeter.\n\nIn-depth analysis and diagnostics, not just tool-driven execution.\n\nDeep heap dump tooling expertise\n\nProficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Java or Python.\n\nIn-depth understanding of system architecture, databases, and network protocols.\n\nExperience with performance monitoring and tuning.\n\nBenefits\nBenefits are an integral part of total rewards and First Citizens Bank is committed to providing a competitive, thoughtfully designed and quality benefits program to meet the needs of our associates.
