In this role, you will drive financial governance, cost visibility, and optimization strategies across a large-scale multi-cloud SaaS environment, partnering closely with CloudOps, Engineering, Finance, and leadership teams to improve operational efficiency and maximize business value. \nThis is a highly strategic and hands-on role grounded in the FinOps Foundation Framework, with direct accountability for translating financial insights into engineering action and measurable cost optimization outcomes. \nYou will: \nLead Cloud Financial Strategy & Governance \n\nDrive FinOps practices across AWS and Azure using the FinOps Foundation Framework domains: Understand Usage and Cost, Quantify Business Value, Optimize Usage and Cost, and Manage the FinOps Practice. \nEstablish and maintain cost allocation models, tagging standards, and governance frameworks that enable accurate, actionable financial visibility. \nDevelop and enforce cloud financial policies, standards, and operational best practices across Engineering and CloudOps teams. \nPartner with leadership to support cloud cost reduction initiatives and long-term infrastructure efficiency goals. \n\nDrive Cost Visibility & Financial Insights \n\nOwn and manage CloudZero configuration, including taxonomy, tagging governance, and cost allocation rules. \nDeliver actionable reporting and analysis for Engineering, Product, Finance, and leadership stakeholders, including anomaly detection, trend analysis, forecasting, and variance reporting. \nMaintain visibility across AWS, Azure, Datadog, Elastic, and related platforms. \nAdvance cost intelligence initiatives, including unit economics and cost-per-customer analysis. \n\nOptimize Cloud & SaaS Spend \n\nIdentify and drive optimization opportunities across Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, rightsizing, storage optimization, and SaaS licensing. \nDevelop and maintain utilization and cost-per-unit reporting across key infrastructure and vendor platforms. \nPartner with Engineering teams to improve cost-aware architecture and operational decision-making. \nTrack optimization initiatives through measurable outcomes and ongoing KPI reporting. \n\nBuild & Scale the FinOps Practice \n\nEmbed FinOps processes into budgeting, forecasting, operational reviews, and engineering workflows. \nCoach Engineering and CloudOps teams on cost accountability and sustainable financial operations under a “You Build It, You Run It” model. \nAutomate repeatable governance and reporting workflows using SQL, Python, and infrastructure tooling. \nDrive adoption of emerging FinOps standards such as the FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification (FOCUS). \n\nSupport Emerging AI & Platform Cost Management \n\nEstablish financial visibility and governance models for AI and machine learning workloads, including cost-per-token analysis and budget guardrails. \nPartner with teams across the organization to evaluate evolving infrastructure usage patterns and cost drivers. \nHelp shape scalable financial operating models for emerging technologies and cloud-native platforms. \n\nWhat You’ll Need to Be Successful \n\n5+ years of experience in cloud financial management, FinOps, cloud infrastructure operations, or related disciplines. \nDeep expertise in AWS cost architecture and strong working knowledge of Azure cost management. \nExperience administering FinOps platforms, including ownership of cost allocation rules, tagging governance, and financial reporting structures. \nStrong proficiency in SQL and Python for reporting, analysis, and automation. \nExperience building cloud cost forecasts, financial models, and executive-level variance reporting. \nStrong understanding of AWS cost optimization strategies, including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and enterprise discount models. \nExperience implementing governance policies using Terraform, AWS Service Control Policies, or similar infrastructure-as-code approaches. \nDemonstrated ability to influence Engineering teams and drive operational change without direct authority. \nStrong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. \nApplied understanding of the FinOps Foundation Framework, including its principles, capabilities, and operating model. \n\nWhat Will Make You Stand Out \n\nFinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Certified Engineer certification. \nExperience with CloudZero or similar enterprise FinOps platforms. \nExperience with Azure Enterprise Agreement or Microsoft Customer Agreement discount structures. \nWorking knowledge of Terraform or CloudFormation for infrastructure and architecture reviews. \nExperience in SaaS environments where infrastructure costs directly impact gross margin performance. \nExperience managing cloud financial operations for AI or machine learning workloads. \n\nWhat You’ll Love About NetDocuments   \n\nThe People!
