This position involves collaborating with project teams, utility companies, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth and efficient utility installations, relocations, and upgrades. The Engineer/Utility Coordinator EIT will perform the planning, coordination, and execution of utility-related activities to mitigate potential conflicts, delays, and cost overruns.\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop understanding of utility systems, including electrical, water, sewer, gas, telecommunications, and other relevant infrastructure.\nDevelop utility research methods, including utility mapping, GIS technologies, and document review.\nDemonstrate moderate knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to utility coordination and construction.\nDemonstrate excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and meet deadlines.\nUtilize effective communication and negotiation skills to facilitate collaboration among internal and external stakeholders.\nExercise problem-solving aptitude to address unexpected utility conflicts and challenges.\nProvide attention to detail in reviewing utility plans and construction plans to identify potential issues.\nEmploy leadership skills to guide junior team members and lead coordination efforts.\nDevelop familiarity with relevant software and tools, such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, GIS software, and Microsoft Office suite.\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering or a related field is a plus.\nPreferred 2+ years of experience in utility coordination, with a proven track record of successfully managing utility aspects of engineering projects.\nPreferred licensed Engineer In Training (EIT) in the State of Texas or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment\nDemonstrated experience in utility research, coordination plan development, and utility design review.\nUnderstanding of project management methodologies and tools.\nStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.\nValid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.\nMust have good communication skills and be well organized.\nPre-certified in TxDOT work categories 18.3.1 Utility Adjustment Coordination and 18.6.1 Utility Management & Coordination Oversight is a plus.\nPre-certified in TxDOT work categories 18.2.1 Subsurface Utility Engineering and 18.4.1 Utility Engineering is a plus.\n#IND\nCompany Overview:\nHalff is a mid-sized, employee-owned, diverse, and multi-disciplined professional services firm designed, engineered, planned, constructed — and purposed — for people.
