Cook and Sandwich Maker

Allegro is a small neighborhood bakery located in Squirrel Hill. We are in search of a career minded candidate to grow with our small team of dedicated bakers and cooks. Position requires ability to collaborate and be self-directed. Our recipes and processes are detail oriented, and require a lot of hard work. We highly value a positive mental attitude and the ability to communicate well. This position is for a part-time cook and sandwich maker. We are seeking either an experienced cook or a self-taught home cook. In either case, it is very important that the applicant have good knife skills and a good amount of experience prepping vegetables. Shift starts at 7:30am, and generally run for eight hours, give or take 15-20 minutes. Employees are provided a 20-minute paid break and a free staff meal with every shift, plus coffee/tea/pastries. We provide paid sick leave and paid vacation time. Current shifts are two weekdays between Tuesday and Friday, plus one weekend day, preferable Sundays. While we are flexible on these days, the position requires that you work at least one weekend day per week. Pay starts at $17/hr. for inexperienced cooks and upwards by several dollars per hour for experienced cooks, depending on type/length of experience.
