Our team is a multi-disciplinary group with expertise in digital signal processing, machine learning, wireless systems, software architecture and distributed systems, and simulation / modeling, sound synthesis, music, audio and speech compression, and much more.\n\nSoftware Engineer - Audio Applied Scientist Responsibilities:\n\nResearch, design, and develop advanced signal processing algorithms with application to speech and audio\nDefine and build new algorithms and add enhancements to existing algorithms to support human listening, machine listening, and other new experiences for Meta’s consumer hardware devices\nBuild specialized Machine Learning (ML) for resource constrained platforms. Explore new paradigms in AI and Machine learning for sensor fusion.\nHands on with implementation and optimization of algorithms classical DSP and ML inference engines for specific chipsets\nContribute to roadmap planning for the next generation of platforms.\nCollaborate with researchers and applied scientists from multiple disciplines\nCollaborate with User Experience Research in design of experiments and data collection and analysis\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.\nSolid understanding in fundamentals of Digital Signal Processing\n7+ years software development experience\n3+ years relevant experience including DSP and audio algorithm development\nDemonstrated communication skills and experience working across disciplines to drive optimal solutions and supporting cross functional teams.\nExperience with C or C++ and with scientific programming languages such as MATLAB, Python or similar.\nExperience in any of the following areas: Small footprint ML, Differential DSP, Echo/Noise reduction, Spatial Processing.\nExperience with custom or commercially available DSP development frameworks\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nMS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.\nExpertise in audio signal processing both classical and machine learning techniques.\nProven track record of innovation as demonstrated by products shipped, publications and/or patents.\nProven track record of contribution in 2 or more of these areas: - Auditory perception - Near and Far field spatial processing -Adaptive System Identification - Multirate systems and filter banks\n- Speech and audio compression\n\nAbout Meta:\n\nMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
