As a Hardware Electrical Engineer at Meta, you will design, develop, and integrate innovative electrical systems for a wide range of applications, from next-generation consumer hardware to large-scale infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and manufacturing experts—to deliver impactful solutions. Your work may span the full product or system lifecycle, from early prototyping and feasibility studies to large-scale deployment and operational excellence.You will be part of a dynamic environment that values technical excellence, rapid iteration, and creative problem-solving.Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:Own electrical development of complex subsystems or moderately complex systems, under guidance from technical leads or managersLead schematic design, board layout, and cross-functional design reviewsPropose innovative solutions to enhance system or product performance, reliability, and featuresManage hardware bring-up, debugging, and support for manufacturing, assembly, or deploymentEvaluate vendor reference designs and adapt them to Meta’s requirementsProvide technical guidance and support to other engineerscontribute to team knowledge sharingWork autonomously and take initiative to manage individual and team prioritiesCollaborate in a distributed team environment and across engineering disciplinesContribute to operational excellence, compliance, or specialized requirements as relevant to the team’s missionMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or relevant technical field, and/or equivalent practical experience6+ years of experience in electrical design, with a demonstrated track record of delivering/shipping high-volume products and/or working in research, prototyping, or early-stage development environmentsDemonstrated expertise in designing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems or subsystemsProficiency in interpreting and creating electrical schematics, designing physical layouts (e.g., PCBs or panel/plant layouts), and/or performing hardware/system bring‑up and debug at the lab or field levelExperience collaborating across engineering disciplines and with external partners or vendorsPreferred Qualifications:Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesMS or PHD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering8+ years of industry experience in electrical designExperience developing manufacturing tests for high-volume consumer productsPRQ or ECO process experience in high-volume consumer electronicsExperience with RF system design and integrationExperience with high speed signaling over MIPI C-PHY/D-PHY, PCIe, USB SS and UFSExperience with circuit design in high speed circuits, Verilog/FPGAs, microcontrollers, microprocessors, firmware, and programmable logic based developmentConsumer Electronics experience and/or working within a mass production environmentExperience designing for HDI flexible and rigid substrates for high volume cost optimized applicationsAbout Meta:Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
