Application of these principles and having the ability to understand wiring diagrams, layout drawings and engineering specifications is required. A Controls Engineer must be professional, proactive and positive when interacting with customers.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nAble to effectively program, start up, debug and commission tooling using Rockwell, Siemens or other industry standard applications.\nAllen Bradley and Siemens PLC/HMI Software experience required.\nFamiliar with GM, Ford, Stellantis or other OEM PLC/HMI design templates and specifications.\nExperience in designing complete control systems for industrial applications with AutoCAD and EPLAN is preferred but not required.\nSupport manufacturing resources and customers, troubleshoot and debug systems.\nProvide onsite support to our customers as needed.\nWork with mechanical design team to create new or modify existing controls systems.\nMust be able to travel within the continental US, Canada and Mexico\nOther duties as assigned.\nOther Skills and Abilities:\nAbility to design and incorporate various controls components\nAbility to troubleshoot existing installations.\nAbility to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.\nWorking knowledge of personal computer, keyboard, and software programs.\nWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and RSLogix 5000.\nWorking knowledge of manufacturing processes.\nStrong interpersonal skills.\nGood verbal and written skills.\nProven organizational skills.\nAbility to prioritize and work with limited supervision.\nGood presentation skills.\nAbility to explain how and why specific conclusions were reached.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality.\nAbility to work well under pressure and to remain flexible to changing schedules and demands.\nEDUCATION\nAssociate degree preferred in electrical technology, manufacturing or a related field, AND at least five years of related experience. Requires at least two years of experience managing multiple projects. Requires at least three years of PLC programming experience, Siemens and Allen Bradley preferred.\nCompletion of GM Certifications are preferred.
