Tutors are to reinforce or explain class material in a content area. Tutors are also to help students develop self-confidence and reduce the fear of failure.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesKeep session reports up to dateMake and keep appointments with studentsFollow up at least once during the semester by phone, not or conversation with instructors of each student tutoredComplete all necessary paperwork on timeAttend scheduled tutor meetings and other in-service meetingsComplete any other duties assigned by program personnelTutors are responsible for coming by or calling the SSS office daily to check schedules, pick up messages, and touch base with office staff.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree from accredited institution.Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.Must have earned an "A in the course(s) in which he/she is to tutor. "B's" are accepted on a case by case basis.Job Specifications:Much of the program's success depends upon the quality of the tutors employed.
