If you love owning what's next for your career and a growing organization, Sterling is where you can call home.\n\nAbout the Role\nProvide health, safety and environmental (EHS) direction, and training to ensure continuous improvement in EHS performance for Environmental Construction Services job sites, and facilities. This position works with all ECS departments to administer the compliance programs, procedures, and policies and acts as a liaison with regulatory agencies when necessary.\n\nTravel Requirements:\nOvernight travel is required. Up to 85% travel between Job Sites, Remote Yards, and Sterling facilities. .\n\nWhat You’ll Do\nConsistently demonstrate commitment and support for the Sterling Vision and Mission, policies, procedures and commitment to safety.\nComplies with and is an advocate of the company's Environmental Policy and Procedures.\nFacilitates environmental programs with the assistance of the ECS operations team.\nPromotes safety awareness at all levels of organization.\nPursue continuous improvement activities to ensure efficiency and effectiveness within EHS areas of responsibility.\nInspects job sites and facilities for potential EHS risks, determines corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.\nConduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals.\nProvide recommendations on Risk Management and unsafe conditions to operations; suggest work safety standards and enforces procedures.\nEnsure compliance with all corporate, federal, state and local agencies: Environmental (EPA), Safety (OSHA) DOT/transportation (FMCSA and PHMSA) and customer requirements.\nReview, evaluate, and analyze work environments and assist in the design of programs and procedures to control or eliminate hazards.\nAssist in the planning, design, development, implementation or enhancement of safety training for new employee orientation and annual required programs.\nConduct Safety training with different levels of employees and personnel.\nAssist in the development of annual company safety and health goals.\nAssist in promoting safety and health awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters and specific training programs.\nCompile, analyze, interpret and report data from audits, inspections, accidents and near-misses.\nLead the investigation of incidents to determine Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for injuries, and near misses and drives action items to closure.\nFacilitates the reporting and follow-up of workplace incidents and accidents with the appropriate agencies.\nFacilitates Human Resources with managing the any Workers Compensation claims.\nAssist in the inventory control of all safety supplies, products, material, or training items required.\nEnsures that job sites and facilities remain up-to-date and in compliance with OSHA regulations including recordkeeping.\nMonitors weekly safety meetings, and coordinates all EHS training, communications, and program management activities.\nDevelop, strengthen and expand relationships with existing customers to increase our business with them.\nParticipate in projects as requested by management.\nAll other duties and projects as assigned.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or related field preferred; or five (5) years equivalent combination of education and experience.\nAt least five (5) years of related experience is required, within a similar environment and position.\nOSHA 10 and 30 certifications preferred.\nCPR & First Aid certification preferred.\nPreferred prior use of learning management system (LMS)\nStrong analytical skills with ability to deliver high quantity work that is consistently accurate and timely.\nProficient MS Office computer skills with the ability to learn and utilize specialized software applications.\nStrong decision making and analytical abilities.\nAttention to detail and strong communication/listening skills.\nPossess a strong work ethic and team player mentality.\nValid driver’s license and clean driving record.\n\nWhat We Offer\n\nComprehensive health coverage, including Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance\nHealth Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options to support your healthcare and dependent care needs\nCompany-paid Life Insurance benefit of $25,000\nOptional voluntary benefits, including supplemental Life Insurance, Disability coverage, and Pet Insurance\nGenerous paid time off, including Company Holidays, Vacation, Personal Time, and Parental Leave\nSafe Harbor 401(k) retirement plan with a 3% employer contribution\nA culture that values employee well-being, professional growth, and work-life balance\nWhy Join Sterling?\n\nAt Sterling, you will help shape planning and supply chain capabilities for a company known for innovative, sustainable site access solutions and extensive experience supporting complex construction environments.
