Private Duty School Nurse for Young Boy - (RN only)
Introduction:
Toddler boy requiring one-to-one nursing from a highly skilled, compassionate, and reliable nurse (RN or LPN). This patient lives at home with his family, where he is loved and well cared for. He will be starting school for the first time in September. Please help this little boy get to school!
Skilled nursing care includes
Tracheostomy care, care r/t mechanical ventilation, respiratory treatments, enteral care/feeds, assist with transfers and ambulation, and assist with ADL' s as needed.

Essential Functions
Recognize changes in your patient’s conditions that require appropriate nursing interventions to ensure the patient’s well-being and safety.
Work collaboratively with the patient’s family, respecting all family preferences while communicating at a high level with both the family and the office
Provide care that is culturally competent, non-discriminatory, and always considerate of the patient’s comfortability, needs, and preferences.
Exhibit professionalism, representing Team Select well by focusing on the needs of the patient at all times, and working collaboratively with the patient, their family, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Assist patients on a 1:1 basis, providing all direct patient care ordered by providers, including but not limited to:
Assessing patients with seizure disorders, responding with appropriate nursing intervention as ordered
Maintaining feeding tubes and provide enteral care, nutrition, and hydration as ordered
Providing tracheostomy and mechanical ventilator care as ordered
Providing infusion therapies, including TPN, and CVL care as ordered
Medication administration
Requirements:
Current, unrestricted, and unencumbered state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Massachusetts
Proof of valid and current CPR/BLS certification
Six months experience in Home Care/Private Duty Nursing is preferred, but new learners are welcomed to apply (New Grad nurses may qualify for our New Grad Nursing Program)
Experience in Outpatient or Inpatient Pediatric Nursing is preferred but not required
Medical Surgical Care and Critical Care experience is a plus
Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate the building of long-lasting and meaningful relationships with our patients and their families
Dynamic problem solver who enjoys working collaboratively and in team environments
Physical Requirements
Must be able to do occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of approximately 50 pounds
Ability to withstand periods of prolonged sitting, walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and/or reaching.
Must have visual and hearing acuity necessary to perform job duties and maintain patient safety
