WSU Tech's National Center for Aviation Training (NCAT) has partnered with Boeing Wichita to establish the Boeing Workforce Training Center — an approximately 35,000-square-foot facility located near WSU Tech's South Campus at East Harry Street and South Oliver Avenue. The center will serve as a centralized training hub for Boeing Wichita's workforce, with the capacity to support thousands of trainees annually. The Site Manager - Training Operations Leader will stand up and lead all operations from the ground, serving as WSU Tech's primary point of accountability to Boeing leadership on day one.This is a high-visibility, high-accountability role. The person in this seat will be expected to build and sustain a professional, disciplined training environment that meets Boeing's workforce development standards while upholding WSU Tech's commitment to operational excellence. Deadlines are not suggestions. Execution is the standard.We are seeking a seasoned operations or training leader who is equally comfortable managing complex logistics, leading large teams, and sitting across the table from Boeing executives — representing WSU Tech with professionalism and authority in every interaction.Compensation: $87,500/yrYour key responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:Program Leadership & ExecutionAssume full operational accountability for the Boeing Workforce Training Center program from day oneEnsure all training is delivered on schedule, on scope, and aligned to Boeing's defined workforce outcomesServe as WSU Tech's primary liaison to Boeing leadership — managing the relationship with professionalism, transparency, and urgencyTrack trainee progression, program performance, and training effectiveness; escalate risks before they become disruptionsBuild and continuously refine operational systems that support a scalable, growing training divisionDivision & Team LeadershipLead, manage, and develop a large team of instructors and operational staff within the newly established training divisionEstablish clear expectations, performance standards, and accountability structures across the teamFoster a culture of professionalism, precision, and continuous improvementProvide direct coaching, feedback, and professional development support to team membersResolve personnel issues decisively and in alignment with WSU Tech policyOperational & Project ManagementManage program timelines, staffing plans, facility readiness, and resource allocation simultaneouslyCoordinate across instruction, logistics, administration, and facilities to ensure seamless daily executionImplement and monitor operational processes that support efficiency, quality, and scalabilityMaintain meticulous documentation, records, and reporting in support of program compliance and Boeing contractual requirementsStakeholder Communication & AlignmentProvide Boeing leadership and internal WSU Tech stakeholders with regular, structured updates on program status, performance metrics, and riskEnsure alignment of expectations between WSU Tech and Boeing at all levels of the partnershipRepresent WSU Tech with executive-level professionalism in all Boeing-facing engagementsEscalate concerns proactively — no surprisesSafety, Quality & ComplianceEnsure all training activities fully adhere to applicable safety standards, Boeing requirements, and WSU Tech operational policiesChampion a zero-compromise culture around safety and quality across all training environmentsMonitor and enforce compliance with all program policies, procedures, and contractual obligationsRequirementsRequiredBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Education, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experienceMinimum of 7 years of progressive leadership or management experience in operations, training, or workforce developmentDemonstrated experience leading large teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentProven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder programs with competing priorities and high accountabilityStrong executive communication skills — written, verbal, and interpersonal — with the ability to engage confidently with corporate partnersExceptional organizational skills and a relentless attention to detailDemonstrated ability to build and maintain strong external partnerships at the leadership levelPreferredMaster's degree in a relevant disciplineExperience in aerospace, manufacturing, defense, or another highly regulated technical industryBackground in workforce development, adult learning, or technical training deliveryFamiliarity with Boeing systems, standards, or prior Boeing-facing contractual workProject Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent formal trainingExperience standing up new programs, divisions, or operational units from the ground upCore Competencies Executive Communication Operational Accountability Large Team LeadershipStakeholder Management Program & Projection Execution Deadline Discipline Risk Management Process Improvement Professional RepresentationWHY THIS ROLE The Boeing Workforce Training Center is one of the highest-profile workforce development initiatives in Wichita's history — a purpose-built, approximately 35,000-square-foot facility designed to onboard, develop, and sustain Boeing Wichita's aerospace workforce at scale.
