Be it through our top-of-the-line veterinary services, or by introducing our customers’ pet to a new standard of training and day care, our mission is simple: Elevate the love and lives of pet families.\nWe are looking to add a Dog Trainer to our team at Doggy Haven Resort\nCORE RESPONSIBILITES (include but are not limited to):\nCreate a training plan for the dog.\nTeach commands to the dog and pet parent.\nBe patient with a stubborn dog.\nTeach pet parents about dog behavior.\nUnderstand a pet parent’s needs.\nWork with the pet parent to teach them about their dog.\nTeach pet parents how to reinforce good behavior.\nListen to pet parent concerns.\nPerforms add-on services as needed.\nFollows procedures for the safe handling of all pets.\nREQUIREMENTS:\nExpertise & Experience:\nMust be a pet fanatic – pets are part of our family!\nOne year of professional dog training experience required.\nTraining certification preferred.\nKnowledge of various dog commands.\nKnowledge of different dog breeds.\nAbility to communicate effectively with clients.\nStrong written and oral communication skills.\nAbility to identify pet behavioral issues.\nAbility to create a plan of action for pet parents.\nCGC Evaluator, AKC Evaluator.\nPhysical:\nMust be able to work evenings and weekends\nMust frequently lift 40 pounds.\nMust be able to be on feet for the duration of your shift.\nMust be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.\nMust be able to handle dogs on leashes.\nComfortable handling dogs of all breeds and sizes\nMust be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions.\nREPORTS TO: General Manager\nPAY: $20.00 - $24.00 /hour DOE\nDestination Pet LLC affords equal employment opportunities to employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, genetic information, age, disability or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
