{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"8a44b6d4459de8a79ade2db7","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/8a44b6d4459de8a79ade2db7","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/8a44b6d4459de8a79ade2db7","title":"Senior Network Engineer","description":"Description:\n\nServe as the senior technical lead for all aspects of network administration and data center architecture design supporting NCIS and collocated DoD agencies.\nPlan and implement network infrastructure upgrades, architecture changes, and capacity expansions to support evolving mission requirements.\nMonitors and controls the performance and status of network resources across multiple enclaves utilizing software and hardware tools.\nDesigns, configures, and installs networking hardware / software replacements and upgrades.\nDevelops and maintains all networking documentation (drawings, cut sheets, configurations, and deployment plans).\nWorks hand and hand with RKB tenant agency engineers in support of RKB networking related projects.\nIdentifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting network performance.\nProvides day-to-day subject matter expert support for RKB tenant agencies.\nTroubleshoots networking issues and outages, which may occur during non-core hours.\nWorks with vendors in support of the ITCSU.\nEnsures all networking applicable STIGs and vulnerabilities are resolved or mitigated in a timely manner.\nPerforms preventative maintenance services on all devices within the networking area of responsibility.\nMaintains a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in data center as well as service provider.\nSafeguard and control COMSEC materials and manage cryptographic devices per DoD and DON standards, coordinating with NCIS EKMS personnel as required.\nSupport the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of routers, switches, and associated systems in both unclassified and classified environments.\nProvide technical input for configuration management (CM), change management (CR/CN), and engineering documentation following ITCSU and DoD policies.\nSupport the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and configuration baselines in accordance with NCIS standards.\nParticipate in after-action reviews (AARs) and provide detailed reporting on network incidents, performance issues, and system outages.\nAssist with network continuity and disaster recovery planning, ensuring rapid system restoration and minimal downtime.\nRequirements:\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.\nMinimum of ten (10) years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer system/network engineering. Includes two (2) years of data center experience.\nPrior experience providing services of this type in a large government environment.\nMust be DoD 8570 certified at the IAT-II / IAM-II level.\nExpert knowledge of network engineering principles, routing and switching, and data center infrastructure management.\nExperience with modern data center technologies, such as Cisco VPC, Cisco VDC, and VRF Lite is preferred but extensive experience with OSPF, BGP, and HSRP is required. Experience with Cisco ASR routers, Catalysts switches, Nexus switches and ASA Firewalls is required at contract start.
