A better future?We're Lear For You.VISION CONROLS ENGINEER IISOUTHFIELD, MI - WORLD HEADQUARTERSNATURE OF WORK: The Vision Controls Engineer II will be Lear's expert engineer for all vision applications. The candidate will use their vast knowledge, experience, and resourcefulness to choose the correct vision system for each application. The candidate will develop the concept, design the system, install, train the receiving plant, and provide support for the vision system post handoff to the plant.EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED (The following duties are typical for this classification. However, any one position may not include all duties listed, nor do the examples cover all duties which may be performed.)Following health, safety, environmental regulations, and safety protocols, (LOTO)Building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among all team membersCommunicating across cross-functional groupsBeing responsible for projects from technical specification to startup supportDesigning and developing all aspects of vision control systems, equipment, and programming using Lear standards and build upon with innovative ideasWriting, implementing, and debugging PLC softwareProviding support to existing Lear vision equipment globallyDeveloping contingency and disaster recovery plansCreating training documentationMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Three years' experience in a controls/vision engineering role.Must be a self-starter, team player, work well with others, and have a positive attitudeMust be a creative thinker, results oriented, focused, and attentive to detail and accuracyProficient in RSLogix5000, Studio5000, and FactoryTalk View StudioKnowledgeable of Keyence, & Cognex camerasMust have ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlinesC+ or C++ Programming capabilitiesKnowledge on machine learning with AI capabilitiesSelf-driven and willingness to work long hours during installations, if requiredWillingness to travel globally - up to 30-50%Lear Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to a diverse workplace.Applicants must submit their resume for consideration using our applicant tracking system.
