Teachers create an engaging learning environment that supports academic growth, critical thinking, and student achievement.Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Build strong, supportive relationships with adolescentsMaintain effective classroom management while delivering high-quality instructionPlan and implement differentiated lessons that address diverse student strengths and needsIntegrate technology intentionally to enhance engagement, collaboration, and learning outcomesCreate an organized, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environmentSelect and utilize a variety of instructional materials and resources to support learningAssess student progress regularly and provide timely, actionable feedbackUse assessment data to inform instruction, differentiate learning, and monitor progressMaintain accurate and compliant student records in accordance with applicable laws and policiesSupport student behavior through restorative practices and consistent implementation of school policiesEngage in ongoing self-reflection to improve instructional practiceCollaborate with colleagues across content areas to design interdisciplinary units and projectsDesign interdisciplinary, project-based learning experiences aligned to health sciences pathways or core humanities classesParticipate in professional development aligned with school priorities and instructional best practicesAttend and contribute to department, school, and family meetingsCommunicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues regarding student progress and needsContribute to the broader school community, including extracurricular activities, student programs, and school-wide initiativesParticipate in diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism professional learning opportunitiesOther DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position.
