The position is a direct-hire role with a structured two-year rotational experience across three manufacturing sites, followed by placement in a full-time assignment at the original home location.\n\nPotential Assignments\n\nQuality Engineering\n\nProject Launch Execution Support\n\nProduction Process Engineering Support – Casting processes\n\nProduction Process Engineering Support – Machining Processes\n\nTooling Design\n\nMelting/Metallurgy lab\n\nTeam\nThe Process Engineering Team excels in the development, testing, implementation and execution of new casting programs, platforms, and technology. By collaborating with multiple levels of GM technical groups, vendors and suppliers, complex casting projects are turned into controlled manufacturing processes.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n\nWork individually on specific programs while collaborating with the Process Engineering Team, Launch Team, Quality, Design, Tooling, Melting and Metallurgy, Product Engineering, and other support groups\n\nSupport Launch Wall process via Manufacturing Validations, Build Plans, PPAP and related engineering procedures\n\nSupport testing and installation of equipment, tooling and technologies on and off site\n\nLead, support and present the analysis of casting defects\n\nAssist in process, tooling and equipment testing, troubleshooting and implementations\n\nDevelop process documentation, process flow diagrams, control plans, PFMEA, standard work documents, and related technical documents for program launches\n\nAnalyze first‑time quality data and optimize processes using DOE, DFSS green belt, and related statistical tools\n\nManage Process Controls plans, QS‑Stat and Flexnet software, and quality systems\n\nPerform both non‑destructive and destructive testing procedures for casting investigation and analysis (CMM, leak testing, X‑ray, CT, thermal, lab specimen prep, chemistry, density, mechanical, etc.)\n\nWork on the shop floor, handling equipment and participating in casting shop activities\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nPursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Metallurgy\n\nGraduation between May 2025 and December 2026\n\nAvailability to work full‑time, 40 hours per week and overtime when required\n\nWillingness to work in a plant environment\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience in a plant environment or similar\n\nTraining in foundry processes\n\nTraining in process engineering procedures and disciplines\n\nBasic knowledge of Magma, Flow 3D, simulation software\n\nBasic knowledge of NX, Catia or any 3 D design software\n\nDegree courses with a metal casting focus\n\nImmigration Sponsorship\nGM does not provide immigration‑related sponsorship for this role.\n\nRelocation Benefits\nFor selected candidates, relocation benefits may be available.
