Must be proficient in SolidWorks or 3D modeling , combined with strong mechanical design knowledge and exceptional attention to detail, is essential for success in this position.\nSalary: $60k-$75k\nResponsibilities\nDevelop multi-view production and installation drawings using SolidWorks and with minimal supervision.\nEnsure designs comply with industry standards, engineering requirements, and customer specifications.\nProperly annotate drawings using AWS D1.1 weld symbols and other standardized symbols to clearly communicate fabrication and assembly requirements.\nDevelop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) to accurately define all components of designed equipment.\nReview and verify design accuracy prior to release to manufacturing and installation teams.\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior designers and draftsmen.\nCollaborate with engineering, electrical, structural, civil, and installation teams to support turnkey project execution.\nSupport manufacturing and field installation teams by providing technical guidance, drawing clarification, and problem resolution.\nAssist with design reviews and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, manufacturability, and installation performance.\nDevelop technical documentation, specifications, and procedures for internal and customer use.\nParticipate in troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues during fabrication or installation.\nDesigner Skills and Experience\n3 years of experience in mechanical design, drafting, or related manufacturing environment.\nAdvanced proficiency in SolidWorks is strongly preferred or other 3D modeling software platform.\nStrong understanding of mechanical assemblies, welding practices, and structural components.\nExperience preparing detailed fabrication drawings and Bills of Materials.\nKnowledge of AWS D1.1 welding standards and other applicable industry codes preferred.\nFamiliarity with overhead crane systems, lifting equipment, or structural fabrication is strongly preferred.\nExcellent technical communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nHigh level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.\nAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.\nExperience reviewing designs and providing technical guidance to other designers is a plus.\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical field preferred.\nTechnical Skills\nSolidWorks (strongly preferred)\nAutodesk Inventor, Revit, Creo, or other commercial 3D applications.\nMicrosoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook\nFamiliarity with project management tools such as MS Project desired.\nEqual Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement\nCrane 1 Services is an equal opportunity employer.
