Comfort working in gloveboxes and a dry room is part of the role.\n\nJob Duties\n\nServe as the subject matter expert for electrode slurry processing, including operation, testing, and troubleshooting.\n\nOwn the slurry process equipment, including the mixing and material characterization tools, and become the expert on their operation, maintenance, and improvement.\n\nDevelop and improve closed processing methods for powder handling and slurry transfer.\n\nExplore and establish new mixing and processing protocols for anode, cathode, and separator slurries.\n\nScope, justify, purchase, and implement new equipment to advance the process.\n\nIncorporate operator input to drive practical, lasting improvements.\n\nTrain operators on new processes to a proficient level.\n\nDocument processes, including work instructions and standard operating procedures.\n\nAnalyze production data to identify process drift, efficiency opportunities, and quality drivers.\n\nTrack and close out corrective actions, working with your peer group to confirm they are completed on time and effective.\n\nApply Lean Six Sigma tools to implement changes in a cross‑functional way.\n\nIdentify or design hardware to support in‑process inspection.\n\nWork in a dry room and glovebox environment for extended periods.\n\nFlex coverage to support off‑shift tasks as required.\n\nQualifications & Requirements\n\nBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.\n\nMinimum of 2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or pilot‑scale processing environment.\n\nExperience with battery cell manufacturing, solid‑state or lithium‑ion preferred.\n\nExperience owning a process or unit operation, or a track record of independent process work.\n\nFamiliarity with slurry formulation, rheology, particle size analysis, or mixing.\n\nExperience with process data analysis and statistical analysis.\n\nExperience with SolidWorks, Minitab or JMP.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nRequired to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full‑face respirator or PAPR.\n\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk.\n\nProlonged periods on the production floor.\n\nAbility to lift 50 lbs daily.\n\nSalary Range\n$79,000 - $122,000/year\n\nBenefits\nSolid Power offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical/dental/vision insurance, employer‑paid life/AD&D/STD/LTD insurance, 401(k) with company match, 8 paid holidays plus the week between Christmas and New Years off, unlimited PTO, up to six weeks paid FMLA leave, cell phone reimbursement and eligibility to participate in our bonus and equity plans.\n\nExport Control Requirements\nThis position may require access to technology, software and other information subject to governmental export control restrictions.
