This is a pivotal role responsible for managing all financial operations and contributing to strategic company growth.\nSummary of Responsibilities\nThe Controller will lead the financial activities of the company, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with strategic goals. This individual will manage day-to-day accounting functions, lead a small finance team, ensure compliance, and serve as a key advisor to executive leadership.\nFinancial Operations\nSupervise and mentor staff members\nOversee daily cash management and bank reconciliations\nManage all financial operations including billings, AP/AR, job cost accounting, payroll and cash flow\nManage IT issues\nReview and monitor the preparation of weekly payroll for 100-150 employees\nPerform special assignments as directed\nFinancial Reporting\nManage Work-in- progress and Over/Under billing reporting and adjustments\nPreparation and review monthly financial statements with presentation to management\nOversee the monthly job cost reporting process with project managers for use in creating contract schedules, forecasting work in progress estimates and progress billings\nLead annual budget process and forecasting updates engaging various departments to establish annual goals to ensure fiscal health\nDevelop and maintain the system of internal accounting controls and financial reporting\nCoordinate quarterly accounting reviews, annual audits, regulatory and tax filings\nBusiness and Health Insurance\nAssist in the review and procurement of the business and health insurance programs\nMaintenance of insurance/risk protection including workers compensation insurance\nOversee annual audits of all insurances\nRetirement Programs\nAssist in the compliance, maintenance and administration of the AWC 401(K) plan\nAssist in the compliance, maintenance and administration of the AWC Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)\nStrategic Planning\nParticipate in on-going strategic planning with the AWC leadership team.
