Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses: Have before hire and maintain after hire a valid driver's license. A valid driver's license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job dutiesas assigned.Certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED. If needed, certifications will be provided by the department within six months of employment.Additional recertifications will be provided throughout employment as required to remain up-to-date. Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge: Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively with wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Expert knowledge of OSHA Regulations. Working knowledge of CDC and American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) Regulations and a working knowledge of the Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL). Computer skills to include operation and utilization of various software programs including MS Office. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from University Personnel and others. Must pass pre-employment physical exam and be physically capable of wearing personal protective equipment. Preference will be given to applicants with a background in a research setting, especially in higher education. Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses: Certified Safety Professional (CSP).Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).Certified or eligible for ABSA (RBP or CBSP).Member/Associate of AIHA.
