We are seeking a motivated and skilled Assistant Mechanic to join our team and help ensure our equipment operates at peak performance. Job Summary: The Assistant Mechanic will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of golf course and landscaping equipment. This role is crucial in diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and conducting repairs to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation. Your efforts will directly support the smooth operation of our golf course by minimizing downtime due to mechanical failures. Equipment Maintenance and Repair: - Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and fluid checks. - Conduct repairs and replacements of defective parts, components, and systems, including belts, hoses, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: - Assist in diagnosing mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals. - Collaborate with senior mechanics to develop repair strategies and implement solutions. Support Operations: - Help maintain an inventory of parts and supplies needed for repairs. - Ensure that all equipment is in optimal working condition, enhancing the overall efficiency of golf course operations. Qualifications: - Proven experience (typically 2+ years) as a mechanic, with hands-on experience preferred. - Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. - Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays; long hours may be required. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment and stay calm under pressure - Physical ability to meet the demands of the position, including working indoors and outdoors Pay: From $25.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
