We value intellectual curiosity, rigorous problem solving, and practical solutions that create measurable impact.The RoleMobius Logic is seeking a Computational Mathematician to develop mathematical models, simulation environments, optimization techniques, and computational solutions for complex real-world challenges.This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in applied mathematics, physics, engineering, operations research, or a related quantitative discipline who enjoys translating theoretical concepts into practical software solutions.The successful candidate will apply mathematical reasoning, scientific computing, statistical analysis, and simulation methods to solve challenging problems involving uncertainty, prediction, optimization, and decision support.The role emphasizes mathematical modeling, simulation, computational experimentation, and advanced quantitative problem solving rather than traditional business analytics or dashboard development.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop mathematical and computational models of complex systems, processes, and environments.Design, build, and validate simulation frameworks used for analysis, experimentation, and decision support.Apply probability, statistics, optimization, numerical methods, and stochastic modeling techniques to solve challenging technical problems.Develop algorithms and software tools to support modeling, simulation, and analytical capabilities.Design and execute computational experiments to evaluate model performance and system behavior.Perform uncertainty quantification, sensitivity analysis, and model validation activities.Generate and analyze synthetic data to support simulation and machine learning applications where appropriate.Apply machine learning techniques when they contribute to solving mathematically driven problems.Research emerging mathematical, computational, and artificial intelligence methodologies.Collaborate with engineers, software developers, data scientists, and client stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.Document methodologies, assumptions, results, and recommendations in clear technical reports and presentations.Present technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. RequirementsMaster’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Physics, Computational Physics, Operations Research, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related quantitative discipline, plus 2–5 years of relevant professional, academic, or research experience applying advanced mathematical or computational methods;Demonstrated ability to implement mathematical models, simulations, or computational analyses using Python or another scientific computing language.Experience developing mathematical models, simulations, computational analyses, or optimization solutions.Knowledge of probability, statistics, linear algebra, numerical methods, and mathematical modeling techniques.Ability to independently structure and solve complex technical problems while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.Strong written and verbal communication skills.U.S. Citizenship required.Preferred QualificationsExperience with one or more of the following: Monte Carlo simulation, Reinforcement learning, Optimization algorithms, Scientific computing, Digital twins, Agent-based modeling, Dynamical systems, Control systems, Uncertainty quantification, Statistical modelingExperience working with government, research, defense, aerospace, healthcare, or engineering programs.Familiarity with high-performance computing environments.Publications, research experience, or advanced technical projects demonstrating applied mathematical problem solving. What Success Looks LikeIn this role, you will help solve problems that do not have obvious answers.
