Part-Time Small Engine Mechanic
About the RoleFACS Small Engines is a new, growing small engine repair shop based in St. Petersburg. We service lawn equipment like mowers, trimmers, and blowers for both homeowners and local landscaping crews.We’re looking for a part-time mechanic to help with repair work as jobs come in.Important: This is a startup. Workload will be inconsistent at first - some weeks may be busy, others slower. This is best suited for someone looking for flexible side work, not guaranteed hours.What You’ll Be DoingWorking on a mix of equipment including mowers, trimmers, and blowersFiguring out what’s wrong and getting it fixed without overcomplicating thingsHandling common repairs like tune-ups, carb issues, pull cords, etc.Taking on bigger repairs when needed (engine issues, part replacements, etc.)Keeping jobs moving so equipment isn’t sitting around waitingKeeping your workspace clean and organized so things don’t turn into chaosWriting down basic notes on what was done so we can track jobsPay StructurePaid per job / per repair (not hourly)Pay varies based on the work being doneOpportunity to make more as job volume increasesSchedulePart-time, flexibleWork is based on incoming jobsNo fixed schedule or guaranteed hours (especially early on)What We’re Looking ForSomeone who already knows how to work on small enginesCan diagnose and fix issues without needing constant directionShows up when they say they willTakes pride in doing the job right the first timeComfortable working in a small, startup-style environmentNot a Fit If YouNeed steady, guaranteed hours right awayPrefer a highly structured or supervised environmentDon’t have hands-on experience with small engine repairOpportunityRight now, this is a part-time role.
