This role owns program execution across the product lifecycle—from concept and feasibility through design, validation, manufacturing readiness, product launch, and sustainment.\n\nWorking across engineering, product strategy, manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, quality, technical publications, training, and product support, the Program Manager establishes the plans, governance, decision-making processes, and cross-functional alignment required to deliver products that meet customer, business, cost, quality, schedule, and performance objectives.\n\nThis is an individual-contributor leadership role requiring the ability to influence across a global, matrixed organization without direct authority.\n\nEssential Job Duties & Responsibilities\nOwn integrated program execution across concept development, feasibility, design, validation, industrialization, launch, and sustainment.\nDevelop and maintain integrated program plans, milestones, critical paths, resource requirements, dependencies, and program-level KPIs.\nEstablish effective program governance, decision-making processes, review cadences, and executive reporting.\nLead cross-functional coordination across engineering, validation, manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, quality, product strategy, technical publications, training, and product support.\nIdentify and manage program risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints; establish mitigation and contingency plans and drive timely escalation where required.\nFacilitate cross-functional decisions and trade-offs involving technical performance, customer requirements, schedule, cost, quality, and risk.\nCoordinate requirements, scope changes, engineering changes, readiness reviews, and stage-gate approvals throughout the product lifecycle.\nProvide clear, data-driven program reporting and recommendations to business and technical leadership.\nCapture lessons learned and drive improvements to product-development and program-management processes.\nRequired Skills\nEducation\n\nBachelor's degree in engineering, business, project/program management, or a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.\n\nExperience\n7+ years of progressive project or program management experience involving complex product development.\nDemonstrated experience leading products through multiple lifecycle phases, including development, validation, launch, and sustainment.\nExperience coordinating cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and business stakeholders.\nDemonstrated experience managing integrated schedules, dependencies, program risks, and executive-level reporting.\nExperience leading through influence in a matrixed organization.\nTechnical Skills\nStrong understanding of structured product-development and/or stage-gate processes.\nAbility to translate complex technical and business information into actionable program plans and decisions.\nStrong program planning, risk management, stakeholder management, facilitation, and executive communication capabilities.\nExperience using modern program/project planning, reporting, and collaboration tools.\nDesired Skills\nExperience with automation, robotics, autonomous systems, industrial equipment, automotive, mining technology, or another complex hardware/software product environment.\nExperience supporting hardware products through validation, manufacturing readiness, and industrialization.\nExperience working within a global organization.\nExperience with requirements and engineering change-management processes.\nPMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or comparable program/project management certification.\nMaster's degree in engineering, business, or a related discipline.\n\nDiversity & Inclusion Commitment\n\nAt Komatsu we come from diverse backgrounds, with unique perspectives, experiences, and contributions.
