While they may not be a specialist in any one area, they are adaptable, curious and have a solid understanding of software engineering principles. Using the latest technologies means they must be willing to continuously learn new things.\nLocation: See the location requirement below. This is not a remote role. We are looking for those preferably local to Maine, and also open to New Hampshire or Massachusetts.\n\nIn this role:\nDevelop, test and maintain system functionality based on agile user stories\nEnhance and improve a global platform that connects all lines of business at IDEXX\nLeverage and maintain a modern, secure, serverless AWS cloud hosted platform\nComplete development tasks that span frontend and backend\nUtilize modern DevOps tools and workflows\nTroubleshoot and debug issues that arise\nMaintain technical documentation\nStay current and utilize the latest development tools and best practices\nLearn and grow with access to online and in-person training\nSpend dedicated time to innovation and improving processes\nCollaborate with experienced teammates and across many teams throughout IDEXX\n\nWhat you will need to succeed:\n\n2 to 4+ years of software engineering experience\nExperience with both frontend and backend development\nExperience with NodeJS, Java or similar programming language\nExperience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React)\nLocation Requirement: NOTE: We will not consider anyone outside of Maine, New Hampshire or Massachusetts, at this time. We are ideally looking for someone driving distance to our HQ located in Westbrook, Maine where we offer a flexible, hybrid requirement of only 8 days per month on-site. We are also open to candidates in NH & MA that are able to be on-site less frequently.\nFamiliarity with AWS Services, particularly database and serverless backend management within a cloud infrastructure.
