Corrections & Custody Officer 2 Community Corrections Division Seattle, WA DOC WFSE Monthly Salary Range 53: $5,074.00 to $6,832.00 This position works for the Western Washington Workcrew Unit 282 located at the Seattle Community Justice Center, 1550 4th Ave South, Seattle, WA 98134. It is a full-time, non-permanent appointment that will not exceed twelve months. Shift hours: Monday-Friday, 0730-1530. Responsibilities Supervise individuals performing community restitution (work crew/community service) and ensure safety and security. Direct and monitor work and supervise general labor tasks in the community. Transport supervised individuals to and from the work site via a state vehicle. Monitor activities and movement through visual observation. Maintain worker safety and provide safety orientation. Issue and account for all equipment, tools, and safety gear. Communicate with supervised individuals and staff using appropriate authority and de‐escalation skills. Serve as a positive role model and collaborate with stakeholders and contractors. Conduct inspections and searches of supervised individuals and their property when reasonable suspicion exists. Maintain and manage required documentation. Qualifications One year experience as a Corrections and Custody Officer with the WA State Department of Corrections, including completion of the Correctional Officer training plan, and possession of a valid vehicle operator's license. OR High school diploma or GED. Two years of experience in law enforcement, security, corrections, or related criminal justice position requiring security functions or regular contact with individuals suspected or convicted of crimes, and possession of a valid vehicle operator's license. Special Requirements and Conditions of Employment Complete a felony disclosure form and undergo a criminal background check. Complete psychological screening and drug testing. Complete employee orientation and all mandatory training within specified timeframes. Familiarize with and comply with all department policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.
