Ideal candidates will apply their skills and creativity to solve complex optimization problems across performance and power, develop evaluation methodologies, and communicate closely with our circuit design microarchitects.\n\nWhat you'll achieve:\nModel and evaluate server class microprocessor components such as fabrics, memory technologies, and AI accelerated compute cores.\nUnderstand the problem domain of cutting-edge AI and how it manifests in advanced hardware systems.\nDevise methodologies for constructing and evaluating accelerator workloads, in collaboration with our software team.\nWork with circuit design microarchitects to provide and collect data to guide the development of next generation CPU and accelerator products.\nBalance features, performance, power, and costs to create a solution with high value and optimal use of development and physical resources.\nDrive performance correlation of models using post-silicon measurement data or pre-silicon simulation results.\nCreate and maintain technical documents including architecture specifications, implementation guides, and user guides.\nMentor junior (and senior!) architects with your domain expertise. Ampere is built on a culture of learning.\n\nAbout you:\nBS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 12 years of experience; or MS degree and 8 years of experience; or PhD degree and 5 years of experience\nExperience with the modeling of microprocessor sub-systems, and of the strengths and weaknesses of these techniques\nCan develop and test software in a collaborative environment\nSkilled in C++ and Python\nKnowledge of hardware/software interaction (OS, firmware, assembly, CUDA, etc.) a definite plus\nComfortable with statistical analysis; and the processing and clear presentation of data\nAbility to learn and grow, one of the foundational principles of Ampere\nGreat communication skills, comfortable with reaching out and asking questions. This is the most important qualification!\n\nWhat we'll offer:\n\nAt Ampere we believe in taking care of our employees and providing a competitive total rewards package that includes base pay, bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The full base pay range for this role is between $163,100 and $271,900, except in the San Francisco Bay Area where the range is between $171,800 and $286,300.
