The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading data science teams to deliver innovative machine learning solutions that enhance programmatic advertising performance.\nWhat you’ll be doing:\nCoach, develop, and lead a team of data scientists building machine learning solutions across multiple product lines.\nArchitect and manage the deployment of thigh-performance machine learning solutions in the cloud, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.\nDrive the evolution of machine learning systems and data-driven techniques to improve programmatic advertising yield and efficiency.\nCollaborate with product managers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to define product vision and roadmap, aligning development efforts with business goals and customer needs.\nFoster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement within the data science team.\nManage the entire machine learning development lifecycle, from planning and prioritization to testing and release.\nProvide strategic direction, development oversight, and performance accountability for Sovrn’s cross-product data science efforts.\nMonitor system performance, anticipate potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure optimal uptime and user experience.\nSpot, attract, and retain top-tier data science talent.\nA successful candidate will have:\n5+ years of experience in data science, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.\nExperience with the digital advertising ecosystem, including SSPs, Ad Exchanges, DSPs, and related technologies preferred.\nExperience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch and Keras.\nExperience in cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS or GCP.\nFamiliarity with MLOPs frameworks such as Kubeflow and MLFlow.\nProven ability to manage and resolve complex technical issues.\nDemonstrated experience in developing and deploying machine learning models to solve business problems, particularly in the context of programmatic advertising or digital marketing.\nFamiliarity with software development best practices and agile methodologies.\nExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills.\nStrong communication and leadership abilities, with a track record of mentoring and developing data science talent.\nExperience building, operating, and scaling high performance, highly transactional systems\nPassion and drive to help the team improve and deliver great products.\nActive listening and respect for others opinions and ideas.\nExperience working closely with Product Management and Creative teams to design new features and empower the engineering teams to develop them.\nExperience working with remote engineering teams geographically distributed across the world.\nBachelor’s or higher degree in an analytical area such as computer science, physics, mathematics, statistics, or engineering, or equivalent experience.\nPosition Reports to: Senior Director, Data Science & Data Engineering\nLocation: This position is designated as hybrid and is based in our Boulder, Colorado office.
