Job Type: Contract Job Category: Nursing Job title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Job Summary: As a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, you will be responsible for providing care to expectant mothers during the childbirth process. You will monitor the progress of labor, administer medications, assist with delivery, and provide postpartum care to both mother and baby. Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs during labor 2. Assist with the delivery of babies, including providing support to the mother and ensuring the safety of the newborn 3. Administer medications and pain relief as needed 4. Educate new mothers on breastfeeding and newborn care 5. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcome for mother and baby 6. Document all care provided and keep accurate records 7. Provide emotional support to mothers and their families during the childbirth process Qualifications and Skills: 1. Valid RN license 2. BSN degree preferred 3. Experience in Labor and Delivery preferred 4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills 5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 6. Compassion and empathy for expectant mothers 7.
