Mid/Senior Regulatory Specialist / Biologist / Project Manager
This position is open to biologists or environmental scientists with at least five documented years of experience in regulatory permitting through:US Army Corps of Engineeres and CWA 404 and RHA Section 10California Water Quality Control Board CWA Section 404 and Porter-Cologne ActCalifornia Department of Fish and Wildlife, CDFG Section 1602 Lake and Streambed Alteration AgreementsSan Francsico Bay Conservation and Development CommissionCalifornia Coastal Commission Coastal DevelopmentThe applicant shoud also have expereince managing projects, including staff, budgets, clients, and schedules as well as marketing efforts.This full-time partially-remote position at Sunset Ecological Solutions is for a Regulatory Specialist / Environmental Scientist / Biologist. As a Regulatory Specialist, you will be responsible for navigating the regulatory landscape and working closely with various agencies to prepare permit applications and supporting materials and obtain project authorizations. You will collaborate with our clients and thier teams to understand their project requirements and ensure compliance with Federal and State environmental regulations. As an Environmental Scientist or Biologist, you will apply your knowledge of ecological principles and deliver comprehensive ecological consulting services. This role requires experience with California biota, habitats, and ecology, strong attention to detail, strong writing skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. Additionally you will be responsible for preparing various other permit-related or biological reports as needed,The position will also provide project management and marketing tasks to both manage clients and projects from project start through completion, incorporating writing and editing of biological reports and environmental permit applications and other similar documents, such as CEQA biological and water quality sections, as well as jurisdictional assessments. Marketing will include fielding inquiries from potential clients and preparing proposals for work required to include scopes of work and budgets.Applicants are required to have direct experience in permitting Clean Water Act Section 404 and 401, and Rivers and Harbors Act 1899 Section 10, as well as California Department of Fish and Game Code 1602 and Porter Cologne Act. It is anticipated that you will use yhour experience to train other staff.This position is based out of the San Francisco Bay Area, California and requires the ability to conduct field surveys in this location as needed with a remote desktop work component.
