Estimator-Project Manager with growing Civil Contractor

Job DescriptionA family-owned civil concrete contractor in the Siouxland area is looking to add an Estimator / Project Manager due to projected growth. They specialize in heavy highway and utility work and have a strong reputation for quality and teamwork.Projects are local, typically within a 50-mile radius, offering minimal travel and a great work-life balance.Position OverviewThis role will be responsible for both estimating and managing civil construction projects from bid through completion. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in both office and field settings.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate cost estimates for heavy highway and utility projectsReview plans, specifications, and bid documentsSolicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotesManage awarded projects including scheduling, budgeting, and coordinationWork closely with field crews to ensure successful project executionTrack job costs, productivity, and project progressMaintain communication with clients, vendors, and internal teamsEnsure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budgetQualifications2-3+ years of experience in civil concrete construction (heavy highway or utilities preferred)Commercial construction experience will also be consideredAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsStrong organizational and time management skillsEffective communication and problem-solving abilitiesExperience with estimating software and Microsoft Office is preferredAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritiesWhat's OfferedCompetitive salary based on experienceStable, family-oriented company cultureLocal work with minimal travelStrong emphasis on work-life balance
