This position is squarely focused on individual contributor engineering work — building, managing, and maintaining the infrastructure and automation that keeps critical security platforms running reliably and securely.\r\nYou will work within a fast-paced security engineering team that owns everything from edge protection to member identity, with a particular focus on CDN and next-gen WAF platforms including Fastly. You will contribute directly to the team's shift from reactive to proactive operations — writing code, managing Terraform, reviewing and approving PRs, and helping build the operational foundation that scales with the team's growing platform footprint. You will also play a role in onboarding and mentoring offshore team members as the organization builds out its India presence.\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nBuild, manage, and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform across security and edge platforms.\r\nOwn CI/CD pipeline work including PR creation, review, and approval processes in GitHub.\r\nSupport the operational health of CDN and next-gen WAF platforms, with direct experience in or strong exposure to Fastly highly valued.\r\nContribute to the security of the software development lifecycle by enforcing separation of duties, reducing vulnerability introduction through code, and following secure development practices.\r\nCollaborate with senior engineers and platform owners to support platform migrations and modernization initiatives.\r\nHelp build operational documentation, runbooks, and processes as the team matures its operational model.\r\nOnboard and mentor offshore team members on platform standards and engineering practices.\r\nUse GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted development tools as part of day-to-day engineering work.\r\nABOUT YOU\r\nYour values\r\nIntegrity: You believe in doing the right thing, even when it's uncomfortable, seemingly inefficient, or costly.\r\nPurposefulness: You have a desire to serve others with your skillset and an openness to continuous learning and growth.\r\nOwnership: You stick to your commitments, follow up with action, and seek clarity in communication & expectations.\r\nYOUR EXPERIENCE\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.\r\n3+ years of experience in DevSecOps, infrastructure engineering, or a security-adjacent engineering role.\r\nHands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines — you have built, maintained, or actively contributed to them, not just managed teams that do.\r\nWorking knowledge of Terraform — you have used it in a real environment; building from scratch is a plus but not required.\r\nProficiency in GitHub — PR creation, review workflows, branching strategies, and collaborative development practices.\r\nSecurity-aware development mindset with an understanding of separation of duties, secure coding practices, and how to avoid introducing vulnerabilities through infrastructure changes.\r\nAbility to work independently in a fast-paced, understaffed environment and get oriented quickly without heavy hand-holding.\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nExperience with CDN or WAF platforms such as Fastly, Akamai, or Cloudflare. Fastly experience is rare and highly valued.\r\nFamiliarity with identity and access management platforms, particularly Microsoft Entra or Azure AD B2C.\r\nExperience working in or alongside a security operations team.\r\nComfort onboarding or mentoring others — eagerness to teach is valued as much as technical depth.\r\nBackground in retail, e-commerce, or other high-transaction consumer-facing environments.\r\nWHAT WE OFFER\r\nThe annual salary range for this role is $140,000-$180,000.\r\nLOCATION\r\nThis role requires on-site presence at our client's location in Issaquah, WA; Dallas, TX; or Chicago, IL.
