Urology PhysicianThe Urology Physician provides comprehensive outpatient and inpatient urological care to veteran patients at the Fargo VA Medical Center. This role is primarily focused on direct patient care, including clinical evaluations, surgical procedures, and specialty exams. The physician will work within a collaborative healthcare environment, ensuring timely, high-quality care while adhering to VA policies and clinical standards.This position offers a structured weekday schedule with no call responsibilities, supporting strong work-life balance while delivering essential specialty care to the veteran population.ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care in an outpatient urology clinic and inpatient setting (approximately 90% clinical care)Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of urological conditionsPerform urological procedures, including but not limited to:Cystoscopies, vasectomies, ureteroscopies, and transurethral proceduresSurgical interventions involving the prostate, bladder, kidneys, urethra, testes, and related structuresEndoscopic and fluoroscopic procedures, including use of holmium laser and ESWLConduct inpatient rounds and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teamsProvide consultations and manage referrals to other specialists as neededComplete specialty exams (e.g., compensation & pension, Agent Orange evaluations) related to urological conditionsDeliver patient education, discharge planning, and follow-up care instructionsAdhere to VA policies regarding medication management and clinical documentationMaintain timely patient care in accordance with VA access and scheduling standardsQualificationsLicense: The Contractor's physician(s) assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this contract shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property. A North Dakota license is preferred but not requiredBoard Certification: All contractor's physician(s) shall be Board Certified /Board Eligible by the American Board of Urology (ABU)Copies of degrees and accreditationsNational Provider ID (NPI)Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) CardMalpractice and medical liability insurance certificatesProof the provider has successful completion of an approved residency program in Urology during which 3 years were devoted to Urological surgeryAnnual Office of Inspector General (OIG) StatementCopies of Advance Cardiac Life Support/Basic Life Support (ACLS/BLS) Certifications
