If you want to work with the most talented people on Earth furthering space exploration for humanity, come join us.\nVast is looking for a CNC Programmer, reporting to the Senior Manager, Advanced Manufacturing, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.\nThis will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.\nResponsibilities:\nProgram complex parts for our mills and/or lathes.\nProficiency in Hypermill and/or Esprit.\nWork with tooling suppliers to determine the best tools for the job.\nUnderstand how to ramp parts from development to production.\nReduce machine time per part when possible.\nAbility to read and interpret aerospace drawings.\nIncrease overall efficiency of machining operations.\nProcure tooling necessary for jobs.\nEffectively work as a team and pass on workload to the following shift.\nSupport and foster a strong team environment.\nMinimum Qualifications:\n6+ years of CNC machining experience and 3+ years of programming experience.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent experience.\nPreferred Skills & Experience:\nWorking knowledge of GD&T.\nFamiliarity with inspection tools.\nUnderstanding of CAD and CAM software.\nUnderstanding of feeds and speeds.\nKnowledge of G-Code.\nStrong Mechanical aptitude.\nAbility to ensure quality parts are produced from programs being created/proved out.\nStrong oral and written communication.\nCollege or Trade school certificate.\nWorking knowledge of Additive Manufactured Parts.\nMulti-axis Mill, Lathe, Mill-Turn and Turn-Mill knowledge.\nWillingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.\nAdditional Requirements:\nWillingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.\nAbility to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted.\nProlonged periods of standing, pushing/pulling, lifting, and operating machines.\nPay Range:\nProgrammer I: $32.00 - $45.00\nProgrammer II: $36.00 - $51.00\nProgrammer III: $40.00 - $57.00\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS\nBase salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
